A good night sleep is essential to maintain one’s overall health and happiness. When you do not sleep properly you are damaging your body putting it in a high risk of illness. Here are some of the benefits you get in a good night sleep.

Your mind and consciousness are strengthened and makes you feel energized.

Memory consolidation a process done by the brain when the body is at rest takes place regularly. To enhance your memory ability and to do things better sufficient sleep is necessary.

It keeps your heart healthy. It also helps you to maintain blood pressure and cholesterol level. For the young people eight to ten hours of sleep is necessary while for the adults six to eight hours of sleep is enough.

The part of the brain that controls emotion and social interactions slow down when you are in good sleep and allow you to perform optimally when you awake. It helps you to maintain the level of neurotransmitters serotonin and prevent from depression.

Getting the good, adequate and quality sleep will help you to improve your overall activities and achieve a healthy lifestyle.
